PROJECT ANNOTATION:
The project is focused on heightening the employment of young people up to age 25 in the Karlovy Vary Region. A survey that was carried out by the Karlovy Vary Region and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Karlovy Vary Region to map the needs of employers in the region showed that graduates of schools are not sufficiently prepared to enter the labour market, as they primarily lacked practical experience and language skills. Therefore, the project focuses primarily on students of the final years of secondary schools and universities with the goal of preparing them for entry into the labour market and the needs of local employers through a number of activities such as motivational workshops, short-term internships and traineeships with employers, intensive academic foreign language courses and work opportunity exchanges. The project is also aimed at graduates of schools and helping them find a place on the job market in the Karlovy Vary Region. Key project activities: KA 1 motivational workshops for students KA 2 Short-term student internships with employers KA 3 Student traineeships with employers KA 4 Intense academic foreign language courses for students KA 5 Work opportunity exchanges KA 6 Motivational courses for graduates KA 7 Employment mediation for graduates of schools. Involvement of the partner – schools: raising students’ awareness of project activities, students’ active involvement in activities – the coordinator will provide this for the school (remuneration of 5,000 CZK/per month on an agreement to complete a job with the Karlovy Vary Chamber of Commerce. Builds upon the “Responsibly from School to the Labour Market I” project (Czech: Ze školy odpovědně na trh práce I), which was implemented in 2014/2015 from the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme, in which the University of Bohemia played the same role.
